Just get off the couch and strap on those snowshoes!

Chamonix, France:

Cloud 9 Adventures offered the coolest Moonlit snowshoe walk. We had never done anything like this before! Our guide picked us up at our hotel and we headed out to the mountains to start our trek. The first hour provided a gorgeous view hiking on the side of the mountain. But it got dark really quick- and pretty soon we were snowshoeing by moonlight through the trees! It was so cool! There was no-one else on the mountain so it was perfectly quiet and peaceful. such a Zen moment!

After about 3 hours we arrived at a local restaurant, had some hot chocolate in an igloo, and had dinner. It was a wonderful first-time experience for both of us- and we would do it again!

It was approximately $100pp for the tour, plus dinner. we wore our ski gear with heavy duty hiking boots and brought hiking poles and a water bottle along with. Enjoy!

Beaver Creek, Colorado:

Beaver Creeks best kept secret is the Nordic Center off of the Strawberry Park Lift. If you are not into downhill skiing- this could be your jam! With 32 kilometers of groomed trails- rent yourself a pair of snow shoes and get out there! There is even a 5k/10k snow shoe race held in January and March. We had no idea what we were doing, but, why not? All we wanted to do was finish-and we did!
